Complete as much of this brief as possible before requesting a quotation. “Same as the photo” is rarely enough for a new plug, new PCB or new internal metal structure.

- retail price target and competitor reference;
- estimated first order and annual volume;
- required language and compliance route.
2. Electrical definition
- Nominal voltage/frequency and field range;
- high/low trip and recovery requirements;
- rated current, load type and starting current;
- delay logic, surge function, overcurrent and display behaviour.
3. Mechanical definition
- Plug and socket standard, drawings or samples;
- maximum dimensions and installation method;
- colour, material and flame-retardant requirements;
- whether existing moulds/internal parts may be used.
4. Brand and packaging
- Logo files and model naming;
- label, manual, box/blister and carton mark;
- barcode and channel-specific information;
- who approves artwork and the final production sample.
5. Validation and release
- Sample quantity and test plan;
- required reports or records;
- pilot batch requirement;
- change-control and golden-sample process.
Quotation note: MOQ, tooling cost and lead time depend on whether the request is cosmetic, electrical or structural. They should be confirmed after engineering classification.
